A fabulous way to spend your time outside during the fair weather months is to head to one of New York City’s many waterfront esplanades. New York City has more waterfront property than Seattle, San Francisco, Chicago, and Portland combined; it’s hard to see everything!
So few of the people I talk to even know that East Harlem has the top of the walkway that connects East 60th street all the way to 125th Street! The esplanade runs along the water front, on the eastern side of the FDR. It is from this trail we can access a place not many people know is considered to be part of the Harlem Village according to the New York City books: Ward’s and Randall’s island! After all, Harlem deserves it’s own island.
