Carmansville Playground is one of the largest recreational facilities in Harlem containing both play areas for children as well as adult sports. The playground is bordered by West 152nd Street to the north and West 151st Street to the south, on the West side of Amsterdam Avenue. The playground features a full-size basketball court with a total of eight hoops so you can play a full game end-to-end, or break it up into several smaller games depending on traffic. There are two squash courts to the northeast corner of the park, men's and women's restroom facilities, and to the south side a full playground with climbing structures, swings, slides, and plenty of benches in the shade so parents can keep a watchful eye of their children.
Carmansville Playground is a great neighborhood playground for Sugar Hill and is located just a few minutes walking distance from the C-train at 155th street or the A,B,C,D trains at 145th Street. The M100 and M102 buses also have stops directly outside of the playground. Around the corner from the playground is the Dance Theater of Harlem on 152nd street and the 30th NYPD Policy Precinct.
